Biography

Mayumi OONO illustrator

She was born in Tokyo in 1975.

She has yearned to draw a picture as the means of living since she was in childhood. After graduating from high school of art, she got employed in a publishing company where she was engaged in editing and designing of an information magazine, and then in the editorial service company, she found strong attraction to illustrations as an ordering party, while engaged in various operations.

She wanted to study a picture once again and studied drawing in “Setsu Mode Seminar,” an art school in Tokyo while she continued working. Setsu Mode Seminar is famous for turning out many illustrators who are active in the front lines.

She caught the best opportunity to become a freelance illustrator.

She has a good reputation for her simple and warm pictures and unique color sense.

We can see her pictures in magazines, advertisements, books, and websites, etc., for women.

She has been a freelance illustrator for ten years and seems to be engaged in her job and creation more aggressively.

She holds her personal exhibition once per year and releases her original works.

From now on, she would like to be active both domestically and overseas.

I have liked drawing pictures since I was in childhood.

I searched among my memories and found that I was delighted when I was drawing pictures.

There are various occasions where pictures are needed in elementary school.

My friends in my classroom and my teacher often asked me to draw a poster of an athletic festival, or illustrations for an excursion guide, a class paper and writings, etc.

Drawing pictures was a rewarding and encouraging experience because I was very happy when I received compliments and acknowledgments on my pictures.

Now I help various companies with their visual works. The reason why I continued working as an illustrator is that I was glad when I helped people and made them happy.

I realized people do not change so much.

I really appreciate that my clients have given me opportunities to serve them.

I hope I will maintain our relationship and continue to cooperate with them.
